What is Elf in Greenville?

Elf in Greenville is an annual project to allow 'Buddy' to deliver teddy bears to the children at Prisma Children's Hospital. In 2018 the support was so great, we added Serenity Place as an additional location.

The Elf in Greenville project started in 2016 with the Travelers Rest Christmas Parade. The response to 'Buddy' was so overwhelming, we knew we had to do more.

In 2017-2020 bears were to delivered to all of the children who were at Prisma Children's Hospital in mid-December.

In 2018-2020 bears were delivered to the children who are supporting their mothers in recovery at Serenity Place.

In 2020 bears were also delivered to the Travelers Rest Police Department, and the Travelers Rest, Duncan Chapel, and Tigerville Fire Departments for use as "Comfort Bears" when children are involved in traumatic events.

You can see our 2016-2019 videos below. The 2017-2019 videos include some of our footage from the visits at Prisma Children's Hospital. In 2020 we delivered bears but were unable to visit the children due to COVID-related restrictions. That will be the case this year as well.

The 2021 campaign is now active, and this year you can make your contribution tax deductible through Travelers Rest United Methodist Church, or give a non-tax-deductible contribution using GoFundMe.
